Threadless!

I don’t often do big write ups for commerical companies because I am soooo not in the business of encouraging people to Buy More Stuff, but if I like something, I want to tell people about it. So. Do y’all know about Threadless? Internerd things tend to spread around extremely quickly, and this one’s been around for a while, but there’s got to be some people out there who maybe have not heard of Threadless before. This one’s for you!

Threadless is basically a website where you can buy tshirts. Their point of difference is that all the tshirt designs are uploaded by the public. Yes, anyone can potentially be a Threadless designer! The huge and eclectic pool of artists means that you can find a massive range of graphic and illustrative styles to choose from – there’s funny, there’s cute, there’s simple, there’s ridiculously detailed, there’s sweet, there’s sarcastic, and everything in between.

My own experience with Threadless has been very positive. I ordered a couple of tshirts for my niece and nephew for Christmas last year. Here's Ryan wearing his (check out his oversized noggin' complete with bruise!):

And recently I bought a couple for myself, and one for the husband (you can see us above). Here's a few others i wouldn't mind owning either: 1, 2, 3.

Their customer service is great, the shipping is very easonable, they have regular sales, and the shirts they use are sweatshop-free. Tick, tick, tick and tick.

Oh and p.s. Threadless now sell art prints of some of their designs too. I wouldn’t mind having this up on my wall:

new shoes of periwinkleness

these are my new shoes. they're periwinkle. which is really just a delighful word, isn't it?

and this is a Polyvore set inspired by my new shoes. despite the colour difference on screen, those earrings are pretty much the perfect shade! but i was surprised at how few periwinkle items are available on Polyvore. maybe the fact that it reminds people of the colour of old ladies' blue rinse hair has something to do with it...

autumn boy + girl

i promise i'll stop posting Polyvore things soon. well, maybe. i can't help it. cloudy sundays on the couch with a headcold developing just beg to be spent playing on Polyvore. i very selflessly gave my time to create an outfit for Tim. he has declared it his official autumn wardrobe. too bad we don't actually have the money to purchase it, 'cause he said he'd wear it all non-stop. awww.

i also made myself an office wardrobe. i find it hard to think of things to wear to work, so hopefully this will inspire me to search out some nice new things to wear. i even have some Christmas money left over still, so yay for me. (how beautiful is that blue dress by the way?)

polywhat

sooooo.... Polyvore. yes. i think that's all i need to say about that. here is my first foray. inspired by the cold, grey, rainy, almost-autumn weather of late, here's what i came up with:

feeling pretty and ladylike in grey, yellow and black

a bit mod in the same colours

and then, just hanging out (preferably in a bookshop/cafe in Tokyo).

...yep, i'm officially obsessed.

the end.

Summer Wishlist

one of my favourite things to daydream about is "Material Things I'd Love To Own But Most Likely Cannot Afford". i'm a serial window shopper which is (mostly) okay with me. here's my wishlist of clothes and other thingies for summer:

+ cute dress/playsuit for NYE/Christmas Day

+ plain tops in black / white / grey / navy / yellow (i'm liking these and these from American Apparel)

+ vintage tshirt

+ one piece swimmers (i'd love both a sexxxxy one and a practical one)

+ tan heels

+ cute sandals (i adore Saltwater sandals but can't seem to find anywhere to buy them here in Australia so these Payless ones - Naomi, down the bottom - are a bit more realistic)

+ some nice holiday season homewares from Ikea

+ beautiful Ecoya candles

ok... the end.
